Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was the first guest on the newly-launched television talk show Jay-Ho! The Jay Kumar Show. The actor said host Jay Kumar is an old friend and was happy to be part of a show that inspires people with spiritually stimulating humanitarian themes.
During the first wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Sonu came forward to support the stranded migrants and helped them reach their homes by arranging free transportation on "a fleet of private buses" and providing food and water for the Journey. Sood further helped many critical Covid-patients who could not get a hospital bed due to the overpopulation of patients in local hospitals. Due to his Philanthropic efforts, Sonu received the SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award from United Nations Development Programme.
Seeing the need for philanthropic actions, the actor decided to found an NGO to help people who had a wide-scale impact during the lockdown. So Far, the organization has distributed more than four million meals on top of providing food to more than 18,000 families in need. The Sood Charity Foundation has provided transportation to more than 90,000 migrant workers in India. In the show, Sonu explained the motivation for his humanitarian effort that helped a lot of people at the time of their needs.
Talking about the show, Sonu said: "Jay is my Long-time friend. I am thrilled to be his first guest on the 'Jay-Ho!' show, and I am sure this show will inspire millions of people to unlock their inner greatness and live their best lives."
Host Jay Kumar said: "This show is going to give the audience a chance to see a different side of their favourite celebrities. We're going to go deep and ask questions you don't usually hear on TV -- like, in such a cut-throat competitive industry, how do you manage your spiritual fitness along with physical fitness? I am sure all these answers will inspire the audience."
The show's name Jay-Ho translates to "Let there be victory". The term can also mean "Praise from your heart", which is an interpretation Jay Kumar prefers.
"Jay-Ho is a way of saying, 'we praise you for your victory in life's challenges," he said.
On the work front, Sonu will next be seen in "Prithviraj", starring Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Manushi Chhillar, apart from a couple of films in the South. Sonu recently said he has completed shooting his portions for the film and adds that the makers are eyeing a suitable date in 2021 to release the movie once the situation gets normal and the audience returns to theatres. Besides, Sonu is all set to replace Actor-VJ Rannvijay Singh in the widely popular Youth Reality Show "Roadies" in its upcoming season.
