Talking about the song, Shahid said, "As I discussed the song and lyrics with Pritam Da, all the nostalgic moments of my sister's marriage started floating in front of my eyes."
Despite recording the song two years back, Shahid found a fresh and emotional connection with 'Kudmayi' during the recording process. "Every time I sang this song, it felt like I sang it just yesterday," he added.
The Punjabi term 'Kudmayi,' which translates to Roka or Rishta Jud Jana, holds deep significance in the song's emotional theme. Shahid shared, "The song portrays the mixed emotions when you bid farewell to a family member who is starting a new journey with someone else's family."
